After a great year celebrating outstanding local student-athletes, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Hometown Sports, hosted by Greg Kerr on KBAK FOX 58 Bakersfield, and help recognize another group of deserving athletes throughout our community.
Celebrating More Than Athletic Achievement
Each week, Athlete of the Week recognizes a standout student-athlete from the Bakersfield area. While their accomplishments in competition are certainly worth celebrating, these students often demonstrate qualities that extend far beyond the field, court, track, or course.
Dedication. Teamwork. Leadership. Perseverance.
These are qualities that help athletes succeed in sports, but they’re also qualities that help build strong students, teammates, future leaders, and communities.

Greg’s Petroleum Service has been serving Bakersfield and the surrounding communities since 1961. Over the past 65 years, we’ve had the opportunity to build lasting relationships with the businesses, families, schools, and organizations that make this area such a special place to call home.
Continuing our sponsorship of Athlete of the Week is one small way we can give back to the community that has supported us for generations.
We know the dedication required to balance practices, games, academics, family commitments, and everything else that comes with being a student-athlete. These young men and women put in countless hours behind the scenes, and we’re proud to help give them the recognition they deserve.
